About The Family Recovery Solution

PURPOSE (Our WHY)

RECOGNIZE – RESOURCE – REALIZE

We recognize addiction has been complicated with centuries of cultural mixed messages from well-intentioned people using rational thinking from a specific time period and from a specific perspective. We recognize these mixed messages trickle down into family systems in each generation, with different individuals interpreting them a little differently based on their own experiences, observations and how they’ve made meaning. Confusion resulted.

We further recognize our system of care is influenced by capitalism. We acknowledge narrow perspectives of addiction and recovery have contributed to the false belief that healing from addiction is just about one individual and it happens in 30, 60 or 90 days.

Our perspective of addiction aligns with Reward Deficiency Syndrome: the combination of  abnormal genetics in an environment of unmanaged stress or trauma results in symptoms  relieved by a substance or a behavioral process, and leading to dependence and/or addiction.

We believe addiction depletes nutrients in the body, making the ProRecovery Diet and  nutraceuticals a first go-to resource. We have seen where this approach has worked alone. In  other cases this has worked in conjunction with pharmaceuticals. Both.

We exist to expand traditional thinking about addiction and recovery to include what has been minimized, and empower individuals and families in their informed choices over time. This expanded perspective allows us to provide a continuum of services, starting with early education for families to engage their loved one in curiosity and positive change, on through to structured family meetings for facilitated dialogue about early recovery and rebuilding trust over time.

We acknowledge individual recovery is a 3-5 year process. We believe multiple avenues of support are necessary, and strive to partner with ongoing resources to support everyone living beyond addiction.

We respect diversity of perspectives and value conversations where all perspectives can be heard to best inform us of options to empower the clients best next steps.

CORE VALUES

CURIOSITY

To slow oneself down. Inquire into the thinking of self & other. To ask questions  with the intention of expanding understanding, possibilities, and productive conversations.

RESPONSIBILITY

To create what we want in our life. To discern between where we have  influence and where we do not. To own where we have influence.

MUTUALITY

To do what we say and trust others will to do the same. To cooperate in effective practices that stimulate the exchange of ideas, solutions, methods, and systems that result in the honest serving of the greater good.

RECEPTIVITY

To be open to the inflow of wisdom, inspiration and abundance from within,  as well as from outside our current thoughts and experiences. To be receptive also means to focus  our thoughts and feelings in ways that create the world we say we want for ourselves, our  families and our community.

TRUST

To cultivate faith in the positive potential behind all encounters.

Mission

Day to day, cultivate conversations about addiction. Share my curiosity to learn. Listen. Invite  dialogue about differences in perception. Share my own. Explore for potential next steps and/or  collaborations.

The mission of The Family Recovery Solution (TFRS) is a continuum of services:

First, the Family Addiction Engagement Training (FAET) is 6 Healing Arc Eduction sessions  (DIY, online) combined with group and individual coaching. The intention is for families to  incrementally make change in their actions and communication so they become a part of the  solution.

Second, to coach families implementing skills learned in FAET, while introducing biochemical  repair, amino coaching, and nutrition to the individual.

Third, facilitating ongoing structured family meetings so the individual can share their plan,  progress over time, and invite questions and dialogue to rebuild trust.

Vision

The vision of shame-free early family education is to inspire families to share their story of  change and inspire other families, reducing the national daily deaths from addiction.
